Asobombo is based in the south Huila – Pitalito, with 170 small scale producers, at altitudes ranging from 1600 to 1950 m.a.s.l. John Diaz is the Representative and leader of the Association.
The majority of the members are young associates that are betting on generational change, seeking not to lose the traditions learned from their ancestors. It is worth noting that of these associates around 78 are women.
Coffee from this region has a great reputation. Roasters, baristas and coffee shop owners affirm that Huila coffee is a favorite, due to its brilliant acidity, sweetness and aromatic profile. Climate and soils in the central and eastern mountain ranges of the Andes offer ideal conditions for high quality coffee production.
