Oscar Daza is the man behind one of the most successful coffee farms in Colombia. From all viewpoints he is an example to follow. Sustainability practices, recuperating deteriorated and sterile soils transforming them into fertile and healthy ones through the use of locally produced compost, carbon regeneration and reforestation. Cup profile improvement by implementing fermentation techniques, processing and drying equipment that allows him to measure and standardize processes. Scale by expanding the original La Pradera planted area as well as renting neighboring land. Inclusion of family members and the community to learn from his experience and experimenting. Varieties now fully adapted to the unique Chicamoca Canyon microclimate for both his main lots as well as his microlots.
All we are missing is how to clone him and replicate his experience in the rest of Colombia.
